Telegram as communicative tool

Communicative tools are digital applications, platforms or systems designed to enable and enhance the exchange of information between individuals or groups. These tools support various forms of interaction like text, audio, video and file sharing that are essential for effective collaboration, coordination and productivity. It also helps stay connected, share ideas and manage projects whether they are in the same location or across the globe. Tools like email, zoom, WhatsApp, Social medias (Telegram) help people stay connected, share information and make it easier to work together, no matter where you are.

How to use communicative tool (Telegram) in teaching and learning?

As an educator, I find telegram to be most useful and user-friendly tool enhancing communication and learning among the peers or groups in society like ours. It’s instant messaging features allows users (students and teachers) to share announcements, clarify doubts and facilitate discussions outside the school hours.

I found the telegram more convenient as we use telegram here at college for discussion and sharing resources like links, videos, any kind of file like PDF, word docs and excel sheets where each and individual have access to it and make learning more inclusive and effective.

One of the telegram’s biggest advantages is it’s support for large file sharing, unlike LMS (Learning Management System) which do not support large file size. Whereas through telegram, we can distribute high-quality learning materials without compression issues.

Telegram also supports interactive learning through polls, quizzes and bots. The polls can be used to quickly assess students comprehension or gather feedback on lessons and work on it afterwards. Bots like @QuizBot help students to reach out to information whenever without having to wait for teacher’s response immediately.

Another benefit that I found is telegram’s cross-platform accessibility, ensuring students can participate whether they are using a smartphone, tablet, or computer. This flexibility is particularly valuable in Bhutan, where each students have varying levels of access to devices.

Telegram’s privacy features and minimal distractions also contribute to its effectiveness as a learning tool. For me, telegram is best because it allows me to stay focused without intrusive advertisement or unrelated content, unlike other media platforms like Tiktok and Facebook.

Finally, I personally feel like telegram will serve best as a communicative tool because of its user-friendliness and features like its its support for large file sharing, text, voices and interactive learning through quiz and polls.
